Discover the delicious kick of the Jalapeño chilli pepper – a true flavour booster in Mexican cuisine! The Jalapeño is known for its diversity and unique aroma. With its crunchy texture and mildly spicy flavour, this medium-sized pepper adds an unmistakable sharpness to many dishes. The pepper is named after the Mexican city of Xalapa, where it is originally from.
Jalapeño’s flavour is often described as slightly fruity with a mild to medium spiciness. Whether you are preparing salsa dips, Mexican tacos, chilli con carne or nachos, the Jalapeño adds a delicious twist to your culinary creations. It is also often stuffed with cheese and/or bacon, grilled or added to soups and stews.
You often find the Jalapeño in glass jars or in cans, but of course, these are not fresh. The Jalapeño of Westlandpeppers has that real fresh, crunchy experience.
The red Jalapeños are slightly spicier than the green ones, want to know why? Read our blog about the difference in red and green chillies here.
