Archeological digs show that chili peppers were cultivated over 6000 years ago in places like Mexico, Guatemala, and Peru. After the Spanish conquered America in the 15th and 16th centuries, explorers and settlers spread chili peppers all over the globe. This made them a super important part of cuisines in Europe, Asia, and Africa. That's why, in the Netherlands, we mostly know this pepper as 'Spaanse peper' (Spanish pepper).

Nowadays, these chili peppers are grown all over the world, with big producers in countries like China, India, Mexico, and Indonesia.

They're a popular ingredient in tons of dishes and are loved for their unique flavor, mild spiciness, versatility, and nutritional value. Whether you're making pasta, sambal, stamppot (Dutch mashed potatoes), curry, or soup, this pepper can be used in everything!

The ideal temperature is between 10°C and 13°C; this way, your peppers will stay fresh longest, about 7 to 14 days. You can also freeze them! During the summer season (April-November), we grow this product in our own greenhouses in the Netherlands. In the winter season (November-April), our trusted growers in Spain & Israel, whom we've worked with for over 15 years, cultivate this product.

Spanish peppers are available year-round, but remember, they're a natural product. So, due to certain circumstances, the product might be unavailable or only partially available at times.
