- Direct from the grower
- Freshly shipped
- Quick delivery & pick-up point
- Spicy support
Unfortunately, just popping in to browse and buy products isn't possible. That's because we don't have a physical shop; we've got greenhouses and a packing hall where we get all your orders ready.
You can totally order your goodies through our webshop and then choose 'Pick up in De Lier' as your shipping method. We'll get your order all set for you to collect. Just a heads-up: you'll get a separate confirmation email about this, and your order won't be ready until you receive it.
Your order will be waiting for you in a cool spot, but remember that fresh products don't stay top-notch forever – they start losing quality after about three days. So, try not to wait too long to pick up your order!
Oh, and guess what? Westlandpeppers also has an awesome unmanned Vespa Foodtruck that's open 24/7! You can find it at Burgemeester Crezeelaan 44a – just look for its bright orange color. Inside the Foodtruck, you'll find smaller packs of goodies like snack peppers, Habaneros, Jalapeños, pepper mixes, and a variety of sauces.
Address:
Burgemeester Crezeelaan 44A

Our hours:
Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00
Unfortunately, we don't offer tours of our company, and it's not possible to visit the greenhouses. This is due to various hygiene reasons and to protect our plants from viruses and diseases.
Yes, that's possible! We just ask that you order your desired products through the webshop first and choose the shipping method “Pick up in De Lier”. We'll then contact you by email to let you know when you can pick up your order. Without this confirmation email, your order won't be ready yet.

During the summer season (April to November) the fresh produce comes from our own greenhouses in the Netherlands. During the winter season (November-April) the products come from the countries Spain, Israel and Morocco, where we have been working with the same growers for years. This allows us to offer peppers, peppers & tomatillos all year round.
Some of the dried products we have grown and dried ourselves in the Netherlands. Another part comes from Mexico, Spain or India. This is indicated per product in the product description.
Westlandpeppers sauces are handmade locally in the Netherlands using our own fresh produce.
Many of our products are available all year, but during the winter season (November-April), some fresh items might be unavailable or only available in limited amounts. This is because not all products are grown by our overseas growers. You'll find this information for each product in its description.
If a product is no longer available, we'll show it in the webshop as 'not available/sold out'. It might be temporarily out of stock, or it could become available again when the new Dutch growing season kicks off in March/April.
You can sign up for a waiting list, and we'll send you an email as soon as that product is back in stock.
Fresh Peppers
Keep your fresh peppers in the fridge or a cool, dark spot like a pantry, cellar, or shed. The perfect temperature is between 10°C and 13°C; this will keep them good for about 7 to 14 days*. You can also freeze peppers! Click here for more tips on freezing peppers or other ways to store them for longer.
Fresh Herbs
Keep fresh herbs in the fridge. Rinse the leaves under cold water and wrap them in a few damp paper towels or a sandwich bag. Store this in your fridge's vegetable drawer. This method helps them stay fresh for about 1 week*. You can also freeze or dry the leaves. Click here for more information.
Dried Products
To keep your dried chili peppers fresh for ages, store them in an airtight container in your pantry or, even better, in the freezer. Steer clear of air, moisture, light, and heat, as these can make dried peppers change color, get moldy, and lose their flavor.
Dried peppers last a long time, but for the best taste and spiciness, try not to keep them for more than a year*. Click here for more tips on storing and freezing dried chili peppers.
Sauces
Keep your sauces in a cool, dark, and dry spot, like a cellar or a cool pantry. Once opened, pop them in the fridge. You'll find the best-before date on the bottle's label. Westlandpeppers sauces have a limited shelf life after opening. We suggest around 4 weeks*, but they could last longer if they still look, smell, and taste fine.
*The most important tip for all products is this: check if it still looks good, give it a sniff, and taste it to see if it's still yummy. If it passes those tests, it might even be good for longer than we've mentioned above!
We can't give you an exact count of how many products are in 500g. Below is an estimate per type, but your order might have a few more or fewer peppers/bell peppers in 500/100 grams. We can't guarantee how hot our peppers will be. Each product comes with a detailed description of its flavor and heat level, but we don't list specific Scoville values. This is because peppers are natural products, and their spiciness depends on natural conditions. A pepper needs plenty of light and warmth to develop its heat. In January, February, and March, when our peppers come from Spain, Morocco, and Israel, they might be less hot due to less sunlight. This can also happen during summer months if we get less sun than usual here in the Netherlands. That's why Westlandpeppers can't guarantee the exact heat level of the peppers.
We regularly test our peppers for heat, but we can't test every single one, of course. So, it's possible you might receive peppers that aren't very hot or are only mildly spicy. We appreciate your understanding with this. For more information, feel free to contact us.
Peppers and bell peppers are natural products, and we can't control their size. At the beginning of both the summer and winter growing seasons, some peppers are often a bit larger or coarser. This happens because there's less light when the fruit is forming. In the summer, with much more light, the plant regulates its own growth and balance through how many fruits it sets. This means the fruit can turn out much smaller or finer because the plant produces fruit more easily. So, this is a natural process that we, as growers, have no influence over. We appreciate your understanding.
The only thing we, as growers, can influence is choosing the right varieties. For Rawit and Pimientos de Padron, we grow a slightly larger variety than some people might be used to. We do this because we believe these varieties offer better quality and productivity. Please keep this in mind when you place your order.
For example, if you've ordered 500g of four different products, they might be packed loosely together in one box. We do this because if they were packed separately in plastic, they could start to sweat in the box, which isn't good for the products. We also want to keep packaging material to a minimum. Of course, the products are neatly separated in the box, but they might get a bit mixed up during transport. We appreciate your understanding! Our experience with shipping fresh products shows this is a great method. To tell the products apart, you can always check out the clear photos on our webshop.
In the Westlandpeppers webshop, you can pay using the payment systems iDEAL, Creditcard (+€1,95), PayPal (+€2,95), SOFORT Banking or Bancontact.
If you're having trouble paying through the webshop, just send us an email with your name and, if you have it, your order number. We'll then send you a separate payment request via email. Once that's paid, we'll get right to preparing and shipping your order, or getting it ready for you to pick up.
Yep, you sure can! If you enter your VAT number in your billing details when you order, it'll show up on your invoice. So, it's super important to fill in your VAT number during checkout.
