Just stopping by to pick and buy products is not possible. This is because we do not have a physical store, but greenhouses and a packing hall where orders are processed.

However, it is possible to order the desired products through the webshop and then choose the shipping method "Pick up in De Lier". Then we put your order ready and you can come pick it up. Please note you will receive a separate confirmation email, without this email your order is not ready.

Your order will be ready in a refrigerated area, please keep in mind that fresh products get a lesser quality after three days, so do not wait too long to pick up your order.

In addition, Westlandpeppers also has an unmanned Vespa Foodtruck that is open 24/7. The Foodtruck is located at Burgemeester Crezeelaan 44a and can be identified by its orange color. The products sold in the Foodtruck are small consumer packs such as; snack peppers, Habaneros, Jalapeños, pepper mix and various sauces.

Unfortunately, we do not do tours of our farm and it is not possible to visit the greenhouses. This due to various hygienic reasons and virus/disease pressure from the plants.

Yes, this is possible. However, we always ask you to first order the desired products through the webshop and choose the shipping method "Pick up in De Lier". Next, you will be contacted via email stating when you can pick up your order. Without this confirmation email, your order is not ready yet.

Yes, anyone can order in the webshop of Westlandpeppers. Both individuals and business customers can order in our webshop. For business customers, it is important to fill in your VAT number while ordering. This will then also appear on the invoice.

You can always email us with a request to change your order. This is possible when the package has not yet been made and offered to DHL. Send us an email with your order number and what you would like to change. Then we will see if this is possible.

In some cases, before your order is shipped, you can still cancel it. Please contact us for this. Once your package has been shipped, it is no longer possible to cancel your order. Due to hygiene/food safety reasons, it is not possible to return fresh products.

If you are unable to order through the webshop, please send us an email with the products you would like to receive and the billing information (personal and address information). We will then manually put your order into our system, after which you will receive the invoice from us. Once this is paid, we will get to work making and shipping your order or getting it ready for pickup.

No, there is no maximum order quantity, but if your order weighs more than 17kg, the order will be split into several parts. This is because of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for DHL's carrier. It is then possible that one parcel will arrive a little later than the other. For orders over 17kg you will also pay more shipping costs, as this will be packed and shipped in multiple parts.

Please contact us if you would like to order more than 50 kilos. We work with different pricing for orders over 50 kilos.

Products

During the summer season (April to November) the fresh produce comes from our own greenhouses in the Netherlands. During the winter season (November-April) the products come from the countries Spain, Israel and Morocco, where we have been working with the same growers for years. This allows us to offer peppers, peppers & tomatillos all year round.

Some of the dried products we have grown and dried ourselves in the Netherlands. Another part comes from Mexico, Spain or India. This is indicated per product in the product description.

The Westlandpeppers sauces are handmade at a local in Holland with our own fresh produce.

Many of our products are available year-round, but during the winter season (November-April), some fresh produce is not available or limited. This is because not all products are grown at our growers abroad. This is indicated for each product in the product description.

If a product is no longer available, this will be indicated in the webshop as 'not available/sold out'. It may be that a product is temporarily out of stock or that these products will be available again when the new Dutch growing season starts again in March/April.

You can sign up for a waiting list, you will receive an email as soon as this product is available again.

Fresh chillies
Store fresh chilies in the refrigerator or a cool dark place in a pantry, cellar, shed, etc. Ideal temperature is between 10°C and 13°C, which is when the chilies will stay good the longest, about 7 to 14 days*. It is also possible to freeze the peppers. Click here for more information on freezing peppers or other ways to keep them for a long time.

Fresh herbs
Store fresh herbs in the refrigerator. Rinse the leaves under the cold tap and wrap them in a few sheets of damp kitchen paper or a sandwich bag. Store this in the vegetable drawer of your refrigerator. This way, the herbs will stay good the longest, about 1 week*. It is also possible to freeze or dry the leaves. Dried products
To keep dried chilies good for a long time, store them in an airtight container in the pantry or even better, in the freezer. Avoid exposure to air, moisture, light and heat; this can cause the dried chilies to discolor, mold and reduce their flavor.
Dried chilies have a long shelf life, but for optimal flavor and spiciness, store them no longer than one year*. Click here for more information on storing and freezing dried chili peppers.

Sauces
Keep sauces cool, dark and dry. For example, in the cellar or a cool pantry. After opening, store in the refrigerator. See THT date on bottle label. The Westlandpeppers sauces have a limited shelf life after opening. We recommend ±4 weeks*, but can be longer if it still looks, smells and tastes good.

*The most important advice for all products is; see if the product still looks good, smell the product and taste if it still tastes good. Then it is also possible that the product is still good for longer than mentioned above.

It is not possible to say exactly how many products are in 500g. Below is an indication of the number per species, it may be that your order contains more or less peppers in 500/100g. This is because not all peppers are the same size and weight, this can also vary by summer/winter season, so this is only an indication.

If you have a complaint about the products delivered or your order, please send an email to westlandpeppersinfo@gmail.com.

If the complaint is about damaged / moldy products, we ask you to let us know within 1 business day, after receiving the products, by emailing us with clear photo of the damaged products. Then we can come to a solution after this. Due to hygiene / food safety it is not possible to return the package.

We cannot make any guarantees about the spiciness of the peppers. Each product has a detailed product description of the flavor and spiciness, but do not mention specific Scoville values. This is because a pepper is a natural product and spiciness depends on nature's conditions. A pepper needs a lot of light and heat to reach its sharpness. In the months of January, February and March when the peppers come from Spain, Morocco and Israel, they may be less hot due to little sunlight. This can also occur in the summer months when we have less sun than normal here in the Netherlands. Because of this, Westlandpeppers can give no guarantees about the hotness of the peppers.

We regularly test chilies for spiciness here, but of course cannot test everything. As a result, you may have received non-spicy or mildly spicy chilies. We ask for your understanding. For more information please contact us.

peppers and sweet peppers are natural products and we have no influence on the size of the product. At the beginning of the growing season, of both the summer and winter season, some peppers are often a bit coarser, this is due to little light in which the fruit is created/set. In the summer there is a much greater amount of light, because of this the plant regulates its own growth and balance via the setting and amount of fruit. This means that the fruit can turn out a lot finer, all because the plant produces fruit more easily. This is a natural process which we, as a grower, have no influence on. We ask for your understanding.

The only thing we as growers have any influence on is picking the right varieties. Of the Rawit and Pimientos de Padron we have a somewhat coarser variety than some people are used to. This is because we believe that the quality and productivity of these varieties are better. Please take this into account when ordering.

For example, if you have ordered 500gr of 4 products, these may be packed separately in 1 box. We do this because if the products are packed separately in plastic it can cause scalding in the box. Which of course is not good for the products. We also want to limit the amount of packaging material. The products are of course neatly separated in the box but may be mixed up during transport. We ask for your understanding. Our experience with shipping fresh products shows that this is a good method. To distinguish the products you can always use the clear pictures in the webshop.

Pay

You can pay in the webshop of Westlandpeppers through the payment systems iDEAL, Credit Card (+€1,95), PayPal (+€2,95), SOFORT Banking or Bancontact.

  • We charge an allowance of €1.95 for payment by Credit Card and €2.95 for PayPal per payment. This is because there is a high cost to us.

If you are unable to pay via the webshop, please send us an email to with your name and possibly your order number. Then we will send you a separate payment request via email, once this is paid we will get to work making and shipping your order or getting it ready for pickup.

Yes, this is possible. If you enter your VAT number in your invoice information when ordering, it will appear on the invoice. So it is then very important that you enter your VAT number while ordering.

Shipping costs for the Netherlands and Belgium are calculated based on size and weight of the order. Therefore, the amount for shipping costs may vary per order:

Once your order has been processed and picked up by DHL, you will receive a Track & Trace code. With this code you can see exactly where the package is located. Please note! Your order will be shipped by the transport company DHL that Westlandpeppers has a partnership with. The package will be shipped in an extra strong export box that will be carefully packed. For the filling and packaging material that is sometimes needed, Westlandpeppers uses old cardboard boxes that have been made into packaging material in a special machine. This is better for the environment and you can just put this cardboard with the waste paper to recycle it.

It is important to enter your email address when ordering, through this email address you will receive multiple emails regarding your order. After your order has been processed and picked up by DHL, you will receive a Track & Trace code. With this code you can see exactly where the package is located. Please note! It is possible that due to the settings of your e-mail address, the e-mail from DHL with the Track & Trace code ended up in the spambox. It is also possible that it takes several hours before DHL's schedule becomes visible.

International customers can track the package via www.dhlecommerce.nl/nl/consument/track-en-trace. On this page you can select the desired language at the top right. Then enter the country of destination, the Track & Trace code you received in the mail and your postal code. Then click on "Find package" and you will see the status of your package.

In addition, for other smaller products it is possible to choose delivery via letter mail. Please note this is not suitable for fresh product, only for specially selected products that fit into this package. So it is not always possible to choose this.

The letterbox shipment is only for customers who want delivery to the Netherlands or Belgium, for all other countries the order will be shipped as a parcel. The costs are for NL €5,40 and BE €8,65 per letterbox package.

If you want the order delivered to a shared business premises, please put in order comments how the DHL delivery driver will get your package to the right place. This can include a phone number or a clear explanation of where you are in the building. This is to avoid packages being sent back unnecessarily because they are not accepted by another company.
