The Shakira, also known as the Anaheim in Mexican cuisine, is a green pepper perfect for lovers of subtle spice. This pepper stands out for its elongated, curved shape and vibrant green color. The chili pepper is mildly spicy with sweet, fruity notes, making it similar in flavor to the green chilli but larger, coarser and firmer. This makes chili peppers ideal for stuffing and grilling. For example, they are stuffed with cheese, meat, and/or vegetables, and then grilled. From grilling, the peppers get a richer, sweeter and slightly spicier flavor.
Originally an Arabic pepper, the Shakira has found its way into Turkish and North African cuisine. Here it is widely used in various dishes. Among other things, it is used to flavor tagines, kebabs, salads, stews and sauces.
Anaheim is an important ingredient in Mexican and (South) American cuisine. For example, it is used for Chiles Rellenos, then the peppers are roasted, skinned and then stuffed with cheese, meat or other fillings. Then they are dipped in egg white batter and deep-fried until golden brown. They are also used for salsas, soups and served as a side dish or topping.

Store fresh chilies in the refrigerator or a cool dark place in a pantry, basement closet, shed, etc. Ideal temperature is between 10°C and 13°C, then the peppers will stay good the longest, about 7 to 14 days. This product is grown in our greenhouses in the Netherlands and is available from March to November. This product is not available from November to March because it is not grown at our growers in Spain, Israel & Morocco.
Store fresh chilies in the refrigerator or a cool dark place in a pantry, basement closet, shed, etc. Ideal temperature is between 10°C and 13°C, then the peppers will stay good the longest, about 7 to 14 days.
