The Aji Amarillo, also known as Aji Yellow or Peruvian Yellow Chili pepper, is a South-American pepper, it’s a very popular pepper in Peru and Bolivia. Amarillo in Spanish means yellow, but the pepper is definitely orange of colour. De chili is medium hot and scores around the 30.000 and 50.000 on the Scoville scale. The Aji Amarillo is known for it is delicious fruity taste, almost like a peach. This makes the pepper perfect for salsa verde or sauces.
It is best to store the Aji peppers in the fridge or in a cool, dark place in a utility room, cellar cupboard, shed, etc. The ideal temperature is between 10°C and 13°C. Then the peppers will last the longest, around 7 to 14 days. If you cannot use everything fresh immediately, freeze the peppers, then you always have a supply of peppers. Country of origin
In the summer season (April-November) this product is grown in the Netherlands in our own greenhouses. In the winter season (November-April) this product is grown in Spain, Israel and Morocco by our own growers.
