The dried Naga Jolokia is an extremely hot dried pepper. This chili pepper ranks as one of the hottest in the world on the Scoville scale. Besides its extreme heat, the Naga Jolokia also has a fruity and floral flavor, although this often gets overshadowed by the spiciness. The chili pepper comes from Nagaland, a state in India, and is named after a venomous snake from the region.
Once the undisputed champion as the hottest pepper in the world, the Naga Jolokia had to give up its throne to the Carolina Reaper, and now Pepper X. But it's still a powerful and intense chili! Because of its extreme heat, the Naga Jolokia is often used in very small amounts to give dishes an intense kick. It's used in sauces, marinades, curries, chutneys, and other dishes where a super hot flavor is desired.
Warning: Be careful when preparing and handling this extremely hot chili pepper! It's recommended to wear gloves when cutting or processing the peppers and to use them with care to prevent skin irritation and discomfort. Do you dare to take on the challenge?
Preparation
– First, toast the dried peppers in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes. This helps release their essential oils and brings out more flavor. Next, rehydrate the dried peppers with hot water. Let them soak in hot water for 15-20 minutes, then slice or chop them to your desired size.
– You can also grind the dried peppers into flakes or powder.

To keep dried chili peppers fresh for a long time, store them in an airtight container in your pantry or, even better, in the freezer. Avoid exposing them to air, moisture, light, and heat, as this can cause them to discolor, mold, and lose flavor.
Dried peppers last a long time, but for the best flavor and heat, try to use them within a year. Click here for more info on storing and freezing dried chili peppers.

We dry our Naga Jolokia chili peppers in a special drying cell at our 's-Gravenzande location. We usually do this when we have plenty of peppers in stock. So, this product might not be available for a while.
