Here's how to make it

1
Toast the red peppers and garlic cloves in a dry skillet.

2
Add the oil and all other ingredients and slowly heat over medium heat to 75 degrees (about 5 minutes). Remove from the heat and allow 1 day for all the flavors to absorb.

3
Strain the oil and store in a bottle or jar. For even longer shelf life of the oil, heat the oil again to 75 degrees after sieving and then fill the bottle warm.

Tip

1
Use a spicier pepper like the Habanero or a super spicy pepper like the Carolina Reaper for spicier versions.

Shelf life

Store the chili oil in the refrigerator, it will keep for about 6 months.

Ingredients

  • 90ml of olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 15g grated ginger
