Description

Get to know the Serrano chili pepper, a Mexican gem famous for its crisp texture and sharp flavor! It's kind of like a Jalapeño, but with an extra spicy punch. The name 'serrano' actually comes from 'sierra,' which means 'mountain' in Spanish, because these peppers originally thrived in the mountainous areas of Northern Mexico.

The Serrano chili pepper is a total must-have in Mexican cooking! You'll find it in all sorts of dishes, like salsas, sauces, and stews. A super famous example is Pico de Gallo – that's a delicious salsa made with fresh tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and, of course, our fiery serrano pepper. Beyond just bringing the heat, the Serrano also has a subtle fruity note that really adds to the layers of flavor. This versatile pepper is great eaten raw, grilled, baked, or pickled.

Super quality and they're great for freezing individually whole. This makes them perfect for fresh salsas where you only need small amounts at a time. To thaw, just pour hot water over them once.

I'm really happy to be able to order such great chilies for Mexican cuisine in Germany.
