Description

Get ready to explore the fiery Habanero, also known as Adjuma here in the Netherlands! This chili pepper will totally elevate your dishes to amazing new flavor levels. This super spicy pepper has a tropical and fruity vibe, combined with an intense kick. That's why it's a fantastic pepper to use in so many different recipes!

'Habanero,' which means 'from Havana' in Spanish, actually comes from Central America and the Caribbean. Over there, people often poke lots of holes in the pepper and cook it whole in their dishes. This way, all those yummy aromas get absorbed, and you can just take the pepper out afterwards, so you don't have to worry about any super hot seeds in your meal! Of course, if you're an experienced chili fan, you might just go ahead and chop it right into your dish. Thanks to its tropical, fruity, and spicy flavor, it's a top choice for making hot sauces. Plus, they're often added to salsas, curries, marinades, stews, rice dishes, and even chili con carne.

Heads up: The yellow Adjuma sometimes gets mixed up with the Madame Jeanette, which we here at Westlandpeppers also like to call the Lemon Habanero. Even though these two chili peppers look pretty similar, they do have their differences! For instance, the yellow Adjuma is actually spicier than the Madame Jeanette. And the Madame Jeanette? Well, that one has a fruitier taste and a super strong citrusy smell – that's where the 'Lemon Habanero' name comes from!

Awesome stuff in red and yellow! I'll definitely order here again next time!

  2. Steffen Lenk –

I've been growing all sorts of chilies for over 20 years, and I'd say pretty successfully! I'm married to an Indonesian woman, so we go through a lot of chilies :). Plus, we have friends and acquaintances from Asia who love spicy sauces, so sometimes I buy extra chilies if I haven't harvested enough to make sauces. Here, I bought 1.5 kg each of red, yellow, and orange Habaneros. I've never received such amazing quality, size, and flavor before! It just doesn't get any better!

  3. Olaru Razvan –

They are very fresh, smell and taste amazing, excellent heat.

  4. ckbtorg –

Delicious peppers! They taste great and have a nice kick.

For my Caribbean sauce recipe, I even add some Reapers to crank up the heat. It's delicious with fresh lemon juice, a bit of white natural vinegar, pieces of sour apple, garlic, sea salt, coriander, and then the peppers nicely cut into pieces, NOT GROUND! 😀
