Description

The dried Spanish pepper is a mildly spicy pepper that you can add to any dish. It's also known as red pepper, Cayenne, or Lombok, and it's probably the most widely used pepper around the world. These elongated chili peppers originally come from Central America but are now used in kitchens everywhere. Its mild spicy flavor means it can be used in just about any dish.

Preparation
– First, toast the dried peppers in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes. This helps release their essential oils and brings out more flavor. Next, rehydrate the dried peppers with hot water. Let them soak in hot water for 15-20 minutes, then slice or chop them to your desired size.
– You can also grind the dried peppers into flakes or powder.

To keep dried chili peppers fresh for a long time, store them in an airtight container in your pantry or, even better, in the freezer. Avoid exposing them to air, moisture, light, and heat, as this can cause them to discolor, mold, and lose flavor.

Dried peppers last a long time, but for the best flavor and heat, try to use them within a year. Click here for more info on storing and freezing dried chili peppers.

Netherlands / Spain

We dry our Spanish peppers at our location in 's-Gravenzande in a special drying cell. We usually do this when we have plenty of peppers in stock. So, it might be unavailable for a longer period sometimes.
