Hungarian wax pepper
€2,25 – €22,50
Description
The Hungarian wax pepper is a pointed bell pepper with a bit of a bite and slightly bitter taste. This bell pepper is very tasty in a salad, for example. The pepper is widely used in Hungarian and Turkish cuisine. The bell pepper has a white/light green colour. If the bell pepper is hanging on the plant for a longer period of time, it will turn to red, but the pepper is at it tastiest when they are white/green and are, therefore, harvested when they are white/green. In appearance, the bell pepper looks a lot like the Banana Wax pepper, but this is another sweeter and milder variant of the Hungarian Wax pepper.
Storage & shelf life
It is best to store the bell peppers in a cool place in a scullery, basement cupboard, barn, etc. The ideal temperature is between 12°C and 15°C. Then they will last the longest, around 7 days.
