The Ancho Poblano powder is made from Poblanos grown by Westlandpeppers. The poblanos are dried and ground into a fine powder. This single origin poblano rub has a fine mild spiciness. The Ancho Poblano can best be described as a bell pepper with a mildly spicy bite. Fresh the poblanos look like long, narrow bell peppers but they have a slow subtle heat. Originally the Poblano comes from Mexico and is, therefore, a well-known product in the Mexican cuisine. The reason why there are two names for this product is that if you dry the Poblano, it is called Ancho and fresh it is called Poblano. Because of the confusion, we call it Ancho Poblano. Use the powder to flavour your dish or at the BBQ to prepare the ultimate steak.
