Description

Discover the fruity Aji Amarillo, a South American pepper especially popular in Peru and Bolivia. Aji peppers are Peru’s edible gold and have a spicy, fruity, colourful and creamy flavour. In Peruvian cuisine, the Aji Amarillo, together with red onion and garlic, is part of the ‘holy trinity’ and the basis of many dishes.

With a medium spiciness, the Aji Amarillo is a versatile pepper that offers the perfect balance between flavour and spiciness. Its fruity aromas, reminiscent of a peach, add a unique depth to dishes such as ceviche, salsa verde and various sauces.

Amarillo is the Spanish word for yellow, yet it is really orange in colour. This is because the Aji Amarillo Paste, which is made from the fruity orange pepper, is yellow of colour.
