Description

Fresh Mexican oregano is a widely used herb in Mexican cuisine. This is a different kind of oregano than the Mediterranean oregano that we know here and often have and use. The Mexican oregano is a family of Lippia Graveolens and has a much stronger taste. It does have the same Mediterranean flavour as the oregano we know, but the Mexican also contains flavours of citrus and liquorice. The oregano is a must in Latin American dishes, Tex-Mex chilli and salsa. It can also be replaced in recipes that ask for ‘normal’ oregano, so try a lasagna with fresh Mexican oregano and give it a Mexican twist.
