Mazavaroo Chili Paste is a traditional chili paste from Mauritian cuisine. Mauritius, once home to the famous extinct Dodo bird, is a tropical island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Ti Dodo Epicé is an essential part of any meal and is used as a condiment in street food to upscale restaurants.
Mazavaroo Chili Paste goes with many things. Usually Mauritians add it to roti, dal puri (bread), mine frire (stir-fried noodles), rice, curry, the list is endless! In the Netherlands, it goes well in any soup (especially during the cold winters, e.g. pea soup), with fried snacks (e.g. fries or bitterballen) and even with cheese. Add a little to your dish and you'll go a long way in tantalizing your taste buds! If you find the flavors too fiery, you can mix it with ketchup or mayonnaise to make a dip with a hit level to your taste.
