The Aji Amarillo chili powder is a ‘single origin’ powder and consists of only dried and ground Aji Amarillo chillies. It contains no dyes or other additives. The Aji Amarillo is a South American pepper, which is especially popular in Peru and Bolivia. The dried variety of the Aji Amarillo is also called Aji Mirasol and means ‘looking at the sun’ in Spanish. This is because the pepper grows towards the sun and because of its orange/yellow colour. The pepper is medium hot and is especially known for its delicious fruity aromas, reminiscent of a peach. This makes the powder delicious in salsa’s or sauces and it is widely used in Peruvian cuisine. Add the Aji Amarillo powder to give various dishes and sauces a South American spicy flavour.

Store in the supplied jar in a spice drawer or pantry.

See packaging for the best before date. After the best before date, the quality of the product may deteriorate, but it is still safe to use. Look, smell and taste after the date if it is still good.

In the summer season (May-November) the Aji Amarillo chillies are grown in the Netherlands in our own greenhouses. In the winter season (November-April) they are grown in Spain & Morocco by our own growers.

The chillies are dried in a special ventilated / drying room at our location in ‘s-Gravenzande. After drying, the chillies are ground into a powder. We do this when we have enough of the chillies in stock. It is therefore possible that this product is not available for a longer period of time.

Ordering during Easter

On Monday 2nd Easter Day, our webshop will be closed and we will not ship any parcels. This means that no orders will be processed or shipped on this day. If you order on Friday after 09:30 am, your order will be made and shipped on Tuesday 2 April.
