    The organic corn tortillas from Tayari are prepared in a traditional Mexican way. They nixtamalize organic and GMO-free corn and grind this with fresh volcanic stones. Unlike the other tortillas makers, they do not use flour or corn flour. This ensures that the tortilla has a better taste and structure. They also retain the natural nutrients that the corn contains through this process. Tortilleria Taiyari is since 2016 the first authentic Mexican tortilla bakery in the Netherlands and Belgium and the tortillas can be ordered at our webshop. The tortillas are vegan & gluten-free and contain no preservatives or additives. This means the tortillas can be kept in the fridge for around 14 to 21 days. It is, therefore, a really high-quality fresh product, not like the long-life tortillas that you'll find in the supermarket. We store the tortillas in a freezer to prolong the freshness. It could, therefore, be that the tortillas are delivered to you light frozen/cold. There are 12 tortillas of 14cm in one package. We sell two types of tortillas form Taiyari, the blue and yellow tortillas. Store the tortillas in the refrigerator (4°C).  Blue corn tortillas Made from nixtamalized organic and GMO-free blue corn. The blue corn is naturally rich in antioxidants, which makes the grains dark blue. Blue corn tortillas are particularly suitable to make tostadas (fried corn tortillas). Diese Pflanze riecht stark und hat einen sehr typischen, geschätzten Geschmack. Epazote wird häufig in den unzählbar vielen mexikanischen Gerichten mit Bohnen verwendet. Im Grunde ist Epazote aber in allen mexikanischen Gerichten verwendbar. Hoja Santa is a leaf that's widely used in the Latin-American kitchen. It's complex in taste and can have a diameter of 30cm. The flavours eucalyptus, anise, mint, nutmeg and tarragon can all be found in the fresh Hoja Santa. The leaf is perfect to make Tamales or Mole Verde with, but it can also be used as a spice to any dish. The product is sold per 2 leaves in a plastic bag with a small amount of water. This keeps the leaves strong during transport and maintains its distinctive flavour. If you can't use them fresh immediately, you can store the leaves in the refrigerator for another 5 days.
